Realme recently conducted a media preview session, providing insights into the cutting-edge periscope camera technology set to be incorporated into the upcoming Realme 12 Pro series.

Expected to include models such as the Realme 12 Pro and Realme 12 Pro+, the series is poised to utilize the Sony IMX890 sensor featuring Optical Image Stabilization (OIS) for its primary camera, offering a 24mm equivalent focal length. The periscope camera, on the other hand, will employ the OV64B sensor.

Realme asserts that the periscope camera implementation in the Realme 12 Pro series mirrors the one found in the flagship GT5 Pro. Furthermore, the lineup is set to introduce a 3x Portrait Mode with a 71mm focal length, enabling the telephoto unit to support an impressive 120x digital zoom.

In addition to these advancements, the Realme 12 Pro series will showcase an ultrawide camera. Paired with the periscope telephoto unit, this combination will deliver “lossless zoom at 0.6x, 1x, 2x, 3x, and 6x, providing a full-focal-length lossless zoom photographic experience comparable to that of a flagship device.”

Beyond the camera system revelations, Realme unveiled the design of the Submarine Blue version, believed to be associated with the Pro+ model. Collaborating with renowned luxury watch design expert Ollivier Saveo, the series will boast a CNC-cut golden fluted bezel, a polished sunburst dial, premium vegan leather, and a 3D jubilee bracelet.

The event page on Realme’s Indian website hints at a potential launch later this month, stating, “See you on XX Jan, 2024.” Stay tuned for the official debut of the Realme 12 Pro series, promising a blend of advanced camera technology and sophisticated design elements.
