Gboard Beta Introduces “Seamless Voice Typing” for Instant Voice Input

Gboard Beta Testing 'Seamless Voice Typing' for Instant Voice Input Activation on Android

Gboard is testing a feature called “Seamless Voice Typing” in its latest beta version (13.8) for Android. This feature streamlines the voice typing process by automatically initiating voice input when the keyboard is displayed, eliminating the need for users to manually activate it.

Currently, users have to tap a text field and then press the microphone icon to begin voice typing. With Seamless Voice Typing, the process becomes a single step, enhancing the overall user experience.

This feature can be enabled or disabled in the “voice settings” menu and may work with non-Pixel devices, expanding voice typing accessibility beyond Google’s exclusive Assistant voice typing toolbar.
