In November, Infinix introduced the Smart 8 equipped with the Unisoc T606 SoC and a 13MP primary camera. Today, the brand officially launched the Smart 8 in India, now powered by the Helio G36 SoC and boasting an impressive 50MP primary camera.
Complementing the 50MP main camera is an additional unidentified camera, possibly serving as an auxiliary unit. For capturing selfies and facilitating video calls, the smartphone incorporates an 8MP front camera neatly housed within a centered punch-hole on the 6.6″ 90Hz HD+ LCD, featuring a peak brightness of 500 nits.
Similar to the Unisoc variant, the MediaTek version includes the Dynamic Island-like Magic Ring feature for managing background calls and displaying battery charging status. Running on Android 13 Go-based XOS 13 out of the box, the MediaTek model is available in a singular 4GB/64GB memory configuration, supplemented by a dedicated microSD card slot supporting storage expansion up to 1TB.
Key features of the Indian Infinix Smart 8 include a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, USB-C connectivity, a selfie flashlight, and a robust 5,000 mAh battery, likely supporting 10W charging. Additionally, the device incorporates DTS sound processing for an enhanced audio experience.
Priced at INR 7,499 ($90/€80), the Indian Infinix Smart 8 is offered in a range of attractive colors, including Rainbow Blue, Shiny Gold, Timber Black, and Galaxy White. It is set to be available for purchase in India through Flipkart in the near future.
