Rumor: Elden Ring May Be Coming to Switch 2

Speculation surrounding the Nintendo Switch 2 is intensifying, with predictions suggesting the next-generation console could launch around mid to late 2025. Among the most intriguing news is the potential release of Elden Ring Definitive Edition as a flagship title for this new console.

Renowned leaker Nash Weedle, known for his accurate leaks regarding Nintendo, has indicated that the Definitive Edition of Elden Ring will include the Shadow of the Erdtree expansion. If this turns out to be true, it would certainly be a major draw for the Switch 2 and enhance the excitement of the game lineup during its first year.

According to Weedle, the port of Elden Ring for Switch 2 is being developed by **Virtuos**, a Singapore-based studio recognized for delivering high-quality ports for Nintendo platforms. Virtuos has previously succeeded in bringing **Dark Souls Remastered** to the Switch, as well as working on projects like BioShock: The Collection and Assassin’s Creed Liberation Remastered.

Recent reports also reveal that Nintendo is taking a careful approach in preparing for the launch of the Switch 2, particularly concerning stock availability. A report from **Nikkei** in February 2024 suggested that Nintendo may begin producing the console six months ahead of its release to avoid the stock issues experienced with the first-generation Switch.

Although Nintendo has yet to officially confirm the launch or the initial games for Switch 2, fans are eagerly hoping that Elden Ring Definitive Edition will be among the standout releases. If these rumors are accurate, Nintendo players will have the chance to experience one of the best titles in the souls-like genre, complete with all its expansions.
