In the past few weeks, Samsung has initiated the rollout of the highly anticipated January 2024 security update for the Galaxy A52 5G series in the United States. Despite most carrier networks releasing the Android 14 (One UI 6.0) update to the Galaxy A52 5G with an older security patch initially, carriers have now begun deploying a new update featuring the latest security patch.
Galaxy A52 5G’s Carrier-Locked Units Receive January 2024 Security Update in the US
The latest software update for the Galaxy A52 5G brings the January 2024 security patch to the US. The carrier-locked version of the smartphone is receiving the new update with firmware version A526USQSCFWL4. According to Samsung’s security bulletin, this update addresses 75 security vulnerabilities identified in the previous software version, enhancing the reliability and security of your phone. The update, however, does not introduce new features or performance improvements to the smartphone.
If you own a carrier-locked unit of the Galaxy A52 5G, it is advisable to check for the new update promptly. To do so, open the Settings app on your Galaxy A52 5G, navigate to Software Update » Download and Install. Alternatively, you can download the new firmware file from our firmware database and manually flash it. If you opt for the manual firmware flashing process, be sure to back up all your essential data beforehand.
Samsung launched the Galaxy A52 5G in early 2021 with Android 11 onboard. Later that year, the device received the Android 12 update. In late 2022, the phone received the Android 13 update. A few days ago, the Android 14 update was released to the Galaxy A52 5G.
