The Samsung Galaxy A56 is anticipated to launch early next year, and various rumors about the device have been surfacing recently. The latest leaks indicate that the successor to the Galaxy A55 will feature an upgraded selfie camera for the first time since the Galaxy A51, which debuted in 2019.
The Galaxy A56 is expected to be equipped with a new 12MP selfie camera sensor. While this resolution falls short compared to the 32MP sensor that has remained unchanged since the Galaxy A51, the 12MP sensor is reported to offer significantly improved quality. There are even speculations that it may be the same sensor used in the Galaxy S-Series selfie cameras.
Unfortunately, the rear camera specifications will reportedly remain identical to those of the Galaxy A55. The Galaxy A56 is expected to retain its primary 50MP camera, a 12MP ultra-wide camera, and a 5MP macro camera. Although it won’t receive an upgrade, it’s worth noting that the camera quality of the Galaxy A55 is already quite impressive within its segment.
In terms of performance, the Galaxy A56 is rumored to experience a substantial upgrade with the introduction of the Exynos 1580 chipset, which succeeds the Exynos 1480 found in the Galaxy A55. Recent Geekbench leaks suggest that the Galaxy A56 achieved a single-core score of 1,341 points and a multi-core score of 3,836 points, comparable to the Snapdragon 888, the flagship SoC from 2021.
The Galaxy A56 is believed to make its debut in the first quarter of 2025, likely alongside the Galaxy A36, which has also been spotted in recent leaks. For context, the Galaxy A55 and A35 were introduced in March 2024 and quickly became available in Indonesia.
